Our Trackers
All Deer Search members are non-paid volunteers who track in their spare time.
We have a Leashed Tracking Dog License to track wounded deer or bear with a dog in New York State.
Our license allows us to carry a firearm to dispatch a wounded deer or bear during all seasons and at night.
Deer Search volunteers pay their own expenses such as dogs, license, equipment etc.
Trackers are responsible for managing any donations they may receive

I am a life member of DeerSearchFLC and also the Founding Chapter of Deer Search, Inc. I originally mentored with the founders of Deer Search in NY.
I have 29 years of tracking experience with my own dogs and another couple years tracking wounded black bear with dogs in Quebec.
I’ve trained and or helped train 5 dogs to the DSI Certification level and I’ve helped over 20 men and women learn to train and track with their own dogs.
My dog, Dachs von Tier Spur, is a German Wirehaired Dachshund, and he passed the challenging DSIFLC “certification test” at the age of 8 months and 13 days to become one of the youngest dogs I’ve ever trained and certified in my entire tracking career!
